If you want reliable, effortless pool maintenance without breaking the bank, this is the cleaner for you. Smaller pool, smaller price—same great clean!

Feature: Cordless, Cable-Free Design

Benefit:
No tangled cords

Easier to handle

Cleaner pool aesthetic during operation

With no cords to untangle or manage, the FR200 offers a truly hassle-free cleaning experience.
Its cable-free design eliminates one of the biggest frustrations with robotic cleaners — no more tangled cables — giving the FR200 the freedom to move easily around the pool and deliver a spotless, consistent clean.

Feature: Lightweight and Compact (6kg)

Benefit:
Easy to lift from the pool

Effortless storage

Suitable for any pool owner to manage

This compact cleaner weighs only 6kg, making it easy to retrieve from the water, while its small size ensures effortless transport and storage.

Feature: High-Performance Lithium-Ion Battery

Benefit:
2-hour cleaning cycle on a single charge

Charges fast in under 4 hours

The powerful lithium-ion battery delivers a full 2-hour cleaning cycle on a single charge, giving complete coverage without interruptions. When it’s time to recharge, the FR200 is ready again in less than 4 hours, keeping pool maintenance quick and hassle-free.

Feature: Pool Compatibility and Easy Retrieval

Benefit:
8x4 M pools

Suitable for all pool shapes and surfaces

The FR200 is recommended for in-ground pools up to 8 x 4 metres to ensure full and thorough coverage.

Easy Retrieval After Cleaning

At the end of its cleaning cycle, the FR200 automatically waits near a pool wall, making it simple to locate and retrieve.

Using the included retrieval hook (a standard pole is not included), you can easily retrieve the cleaner from the water without needing to get wet or strain.

Battery Capacity and Longevity

The FR200 robotic cleaner is equipped with a high-performance Lithium-Ion battery delivering 5.1Ah of power. This provides sufficient energy — with a small reserve — to complete a full 2-hour cleaning cycle, covering both the pool floor and walls.

Unlike many other entry-level cordless robotic cleaners, the FR200 features a replaceable battery. This provides a cost-effective option for extending the life of the cleaner, ensuring ongoing performance without the need to replace the entire unit. Backed by a 2-year warranty, pool owners can enjoy added peace of mind with their investment.

Navigation Behaviour:

The FreeRider FR200 follows a structured navigation sequence for efficient cleaning.

  • It travels in long, straight forward and backward lines with the pump operating at 100%.
  • After these straight movements, the cleaner performs a 90° rotation, alternating between three counter-clockwise (CCW) and three clockwise (CW) rotations.
  • This rotation pattern repeats throughout the cleaning cycle until the cleaner stops at the bottom of a pool wall for easy retrieval.

Wall Climbing Behaviour:

Upon starting, the FR200 climbs the first six walls it encounters to ensure early and thorough wall cleaning. After this initial phase, the cleaner transitions to climbing every second wall it approaches while moving forward.

This cleaning pattern is intentionally designed to balance thorough coverage with energy efficiency and battery life. Because most debris typically settles on the pool floor, the FR200 focuses its energy where it's needed most — ensuring the floor stays clean and clear.

By managing its energy use this way, the FR200 ensures a full 2-hour cleaning cycle with consistent performance across the entire pool.

Wall detection

The FR200 uses shock detection to sense when it has come into contact with a wall or vertical surface.

This feature allows the cleaner to quickly recognise it’s on a wall when it shouldn't be.

By detecting the impact and adjusting its movement, the FR200:

  • 🚫 Avoids climbing unnecessarily
  • ⏱️ Reduces wasted time
  • Focuses on cleaning the floor — where it’s needed most

·       The FR200 features a confined 17cm suction zone, optimised for its compact design. This targeted suction area maximises debris pickup while supporting the cleaner’s small, agile form factor.

Important to note:

The FR200 needs to be stored inside and never left in direct sunlight. Do not expose the cleaner to fire, excessive temperatures, ignition sources, or pool and spa chemicals.

You should not leave the FR200 cleaner in the pool for extended periods for several important reasons:

  • Battery Protection: Prolonged exposure to water, especially when not in use, can affect the integrity and lifespan of the internal lithium-ion battery.
  • Chemical Damage: Continuous exposure to pool chemicals like chlorine or acid (especially during super chlorination) can degrade components, including seals, brushes, and the cleaner’s outer shell.
  • Component Wear: Leaving the cleaner submerged unnecessarily accelerates wear on parts such as the brushes and tracks, even when it’s not operating.
  • Optimal Storage Conditions: The cleaner should be stored in a dry, shaded location with temperatures between 10°C and 21°C to prevent heat or UV damage and preserve performance.

Pro Tip: Always remove the cleaner from the pool after each cycle and store it properly to maximise its service life and maintain peak cleaning performance.

Water Balance

Maintaining proper water balance in your pool is essential for both water quality and the longevity of your equipment—including your robotic cleaner. Unbalanced water, whether too acidic or too alkaline, can lead to issues such as scale buildup, corrosion, and cloudy water, all of which can impact the cleaner’s performance. Keeping your pool water properly balanced not only ensures a safe and enjoyable swimming experience but also helps your robotic cleaner operate efficiently and last longer.

*Remember to always clean out the filter after every use and to charge the cleaner.
